Gatherings at the Farm.
Connection, Creation, and the Wisdom of the Seasons.
We open our gates to the Charlottesville community and invite you into the actual pace of the land. Reasons to pause, to breathe in fresh air, make something with your hands, and remember what dirt and daylight feel like when you stop long enough to notice.

From Flower to Foam: The Art of Soapwort
Step into the garden this summer for an intimate, hands-on experience centered around one of nature’s most fascinating plants: Soapwort.
Used for centuries as a natural cleanser, soapwort has the remarkable ability to transform into a gentle, foaming lather with water alone. In this immersive workshop, guests will harvest soapwort directly from the garden and learn how to prepare and use it as a botanical soap.
This is more than a class—it is a sensory, seasonal experience designed to connect you to the beauty and utility of the natural world.
What You’ll Experience
A guided walk through the garden to discover and harvest soapwort
Hands-on instruction in creating natural soap from fresh plant material
Exploration of traditional botanical cleansing practices
A curated, small-group setting designed for connection and creativity
Seasonal refreshments sourced from the farm
What You’ll Take Home: A Natural Soap Care Kit
Your prepared soapwort extract in a recycled glass soap dispenser
A freshly harvested bundle of soapwort with soap making directions so you can continue the experience at home
A natural luffa sponge and wooden nail brush for daily use

Staghorn Fern Mounting Workshop & Farm Walk
Step into an elevated, hands-on experience designed to bring the quiet beauty of the natural world into your home.
In this guided workshop, you’ll learn the art of mounting a staghorn fern—an epiphytic plant that, in nature, grows gracefully along tree canopies. Mounting not only highlights its sculptural elegance but also honors the way it is meant to live and thrive.
You’ll be led through the full process of wrapping and mounting your fern, while gaining a deeper understanding of the “why” behind this practice. This is more than a workshop—it’s an opportunity to create a lasting, living piece that continues to offer a sense of calm, connection, and vitality well beyond the experience itself.
You’ll leave with a fully mounted fern ready to hang, along with the knowledge and confidence to care for it, bringing the grounding presence of nature into your space for months and years to come.
No prior experience is required.
